Library receives $20K worth of booksThe Maui News LAHAINA - The North Beach West Maui Benefit Fund donated $20,000 worth of new books about Hawaii, Pacific Islands and East Asia to the Lahaina Public Library at ceremonies Nov. 17. The books bought from the University of Hawai'i Press updated the library's Hawaiiana, oceanography, Pacifica and East Asian collections. The gift enhanced last year's fund donation of books worth $5,000. The North Beach West Maui Benefit Fund was established in 2008 to administer projects that benefit the North Beach and West Maui communities, according to fund spokesman Lance Collins.
