Organization names Lahaina street one of the best in the nation

A national organization says Hawaii is home to one of the great streets of 2011.
Front Street in Lahaina, Maui made the top ten, as put together by the American Planning Association.
The street is singled out for its history, amenities, revitalization efforts, and post-card picture views.
This is the first time a site in Hawaii has made the list.
It also comes just a couple of weeks before the return of Halloween festivities on Front Street, which will be closed to traffic for the first time in years.
